Hello Citizens of the Blogosphere!
As followers of this blog know, after almost half a year of using artist grade colored pencils, I am starting to get into coloring with art markers. In the short time I have been using these mediums, I have developed a fondness for both of them.
In this post, I will reveal the results of an experiment I did comparing the different mediums.
Night and Day: Colored Pencil Vs. Marker
Step 1: Start with a black and white illustration.
This is my original ink illustration entitled Kailani.
Kailani: Ink on Cardstock
Step 2: Color the illustration using colored pencils.
This is the version I colored a while back using colored pencils.
Kalani In The Sun: Ink and Prismacolor Colored Pencils on cardstock.
Step 3: Color the same illustration using art markers.
This is the version I did recently with Copic, ProMarker and Prismacolor Markers.
Kalani By The Moon: Ink, Copic, Letraset ProMarkers and metalic markers on cardstock.
Just like night and day, I like them both in different ways.
Until next time my friends…
