Basic Sketching Toolkit and Sketches

Hello Citizens of the Blogosphere,

For some reason, I have been really into sketching and drawing lately.

As such, I have been taking my sketching toolkit and sketchbook with me everywhere.

For those of you who are interested in creating a basic sketching toolkit of your own, here are some items that I would recommend. (As always, you can click on the item name to be directed to its home on Amazon.)

Here are some of the pencil and pen drawings that have made their way onto the pages of my sketchbook. I hope you like them!

That’s all for now!

  1. You’ve discovered the carry concept! 😉 My wife generally carries sketch book and supplies with her, and I always have a carry camera. It’s not very easy to do drive by sketches as it is to do drive by photos, but I’m amazed how quickly my wife can turn out a really good sketch, while I’m taking a few shots.

I like your sketches a lot. The portraits seem to capture some essence of each person’s personality. I especially like Tangled. The image is provocative and the line work is superb. The quality of the sketching in both the pencil and pen is excellent. Great work.

      1. Oh yes! Our outings are lots of fun, and they get exciting too as we’ve been stuck in the snow in the middle of nowhere, late at night (took a lot of work and creativity to get home that night). Another time we got caught in a down poor, ended driving through water that was too deep and totaled the car. We were out in the middle of no of nowhere then, as well, but luckily we had cell coverage and called a tow truck,

    1. Yay! Sketching is a lot of fun. If your life is crazy busy like mine, carrying around a sketchbook is the best way to ensure that you have time to sketch each day. Its kind of like carrying a book in your purse. Which, consequently, I also tend to do. You can imagine how heavy my purse usually is… 🙂 Its worth it though.

      1. I carry notebooks for writing. I have a sketchbook at my work table but I tend to not draw anything. I don’t think I can concentrate when I’m not alone. My officemates are designers and developers so they are more comfortable drawing freehand when they feel the need to.

Maybe one of these days, I’ll post some of the very few “artworks” that I’ve done in my life.

  2. Just wanted to let you know that I’m thankful you are following my blog. You have some nice artwork here and the sketchbook kit sounds great. If you are unable to sketch something a small notepad can come in handy to write down ideas . Continue to create!
