How To Stay Connected

How To Stay Connected

Hello, Citizens of The Internet,

As social animals, it is important for our mental health to feel connected to others. So today, I thought I’d share some of my tips on how to stay emotionally connected even though we can’t physically be together.

💗Snail Mail: Thankfully, the heroes at the post office are still delivering mail. Sending a letter, card or gift is a great way to let someone know that you care. Also, maybe include a few photos if you have any. Having photos of loved ones around is always comforting.

🌍Connect Online: There are so many great apps for connecting with friends and family online. Social media is a great way to stay connected with loved ones and just check in on them.

📞Phone Calls: As an (older) millennial, I rarely use the telephone for its intended purpose and I kinda sorta hate phone calls…unless I’m talking to the people that I love. Calling family or friends on the phone is a great way to stay in touch.

🖥Cyber Gatherings: Some apps that I’ve been using lately are: Skype, HouseParty, Zoom and Facetime with family members who have iPhones. Gathering together online to watch a movie, to hang out or even to do something festive is a great way to stay connected during this crazy time.

🌺Okay, that’s all I’ve got for now. How about you? What are some ways that you are staying connected with loved ones right now? I’d love to hear your tips and I’m sure everyone else would too, so leave them below.

That's all for now.

XO,

Audrey
